TNS Catering provide our academy meal service.
We have a choice system for lunches. Children choose which lunch they want at the beginning of the day and are given a coloured wristband to ensure they get their choice. They are able to choose from a selection of four main courses which include vegetables and salad as well as a choice of two puddings.
You can see the menu for this half term by clicking on the link below.
A lunch costs £2.10 (£10.50 a week), this should be paid in advance or on the day. Cheques should be made payable to Willow Green Academy, if you are sending in cash please send it in an envelope with your child's name clearly marked.
We encourage parents and carers to make online payments for lunches and breakfast club through Parentpay. Please ask at the academy office if you need any help with this. We will be accepting cash and cheques up to Christmas 2018, after this all payments can be made online or at a local Paypoint.
We are not able to provide a lunch if arrears go beyond two weeks.
If your child is having a packed lunch, please ensure that they have a suitable container for lunch which is clearly named.
We promote ‘healthy eating’ and ask parents to consider a healthy and varied a lunch as possible. A healthy packed lunch could include:
- A substantial savoury snack e.g. a sandwich, a wrap, a piece of cold quiche, cold pasta, a pasty or a sausage roll.
- A piece of fruit.
- A yoghurt.
- A carton of fruit juice or plastic bottle of water (no fizzy drinks please).
- An appropriate treat e.g. a packet of crisps or a biscuit.
We have a number of children in our school who have an allergy to nuts including: Peanuts, Peanut butter, Nut oils, Nut flavourings, etc…
Touching or eating these items may provoke a severe allergic reaction requiring urgent medical assistance. For the safety of the children we are asking parents not to send any food containing these items to school.
The academy has a breakfast club, which is held every day in the community hall from 8.00 to 8.45am. There is always cereal; toast/jam; and/or beans/spaghetti/cheese on toast with orange juice/milk. After breakfast the children play games with the supervisor until it is time to go to their classes.
There is no booking system, children can come for the whole week or odd days. It costs £1.50 per session which should be paid in advance or on the day. If children do not want to take a breakfast the cost is 50p per session. There is no charge for children who are or have been eligible for free school meals.
