Rivers - Year 5

Year Five have focussed on a water theme during our topic on rivers.

In English we studied the poem ‘Silver’ by Walter de la Mere and produced our own poems using personification. Using careful language choices we made the river come alive – some were gentle streams whilst others were great torrents.

Can you imagine the character being portrayed through our poems?

We also studied the work of Hokusai and his famous ‘Wave’. Exploring colour and line we produced our own art work inspired by Hokusai and also the River Aire where we carried out field work.

Look carefully at the sketches – do you recognise the location?
